NED is configured with any of the following networked items at your premises:

- Battery Inverter / Controller module
- Electric Vehicle / Charger
- Smart Appliances
- Electric Hot Water system
NED uses the network in your premises, to communicate to your appliances. NED also communicates over the internet to enlightened's servers to ensure that NED is working correctly for you. If NED needs help, NED will let us know - NED's a clever robot!
Only one NED is needed per billable premise, and requires an ongoing monthly subscription of $15/month (applied only once your initial setup is satisfactory, and is done by phone.)
NED needs power and internet, and is ideally directly connected to your existing internet modem via an Ethernet network cable (supplied).
